To make a Give Thanks table runner
This Thanksgiving, use the Let There Be LOVE alphabet along with A New Leaf to create a gorgeous table runner for your Thanksgiving celebrations!
For a Give Thanks table runner which measures 60″ long and 18″ wide:
- Cut a piece of background fabric, 54″ x 22″
- Refer to the cutting charts in the Let There Be LOVE Uppercase and Lowercase design collections for sizes to cut appliqué fabric for each letter
- Cut a piece of stabilizer, 60″ x 18″
- Mark the stabilizer as follows for to create placement lines for the letters :
Draw a vertical line down the center of the stabilizer
Draw a horizontal line across the center of the stabilizer
Draw a horizontal line 3.75″ BELOW the horizontal center line
Mark the top of the stabilizer.
Draw the following lines to the LEFT of the vertical center line:
3.5″, 8″, 12.75″, 17.75″, 22″
Draw the following lines to the RIGHT of the vertical center line:
2″, 7.75″, 12″, 15.75″, 20.25″
- Mark the stabilizer as follows for to create placement lines for the leaves :
Draw a horizontal line 2″ ABOVE the horizontal center line and another 6″ ABOVE the horizontal center line.
Draw a horizontal line 2″ BELOW the horizontal center line and another 6″ BELOW the horizontal center line.
Draw the following lines to the RIGHT of the vertical center line (leave a space in the center of each line, 5″ above and below the horizontal center line)
2″, 7″, 12″, 17″, 22″, 27″
Draw the following lines to the LEFT of the vertical center line (leave a space in the center of each line, 5″ above and below the horizontal center line)
2″, 7″, 12″, 17″, 22″, 27″
- Lay your background fabric right side DOWN on a flat surface.
- Center the marked stabilizer MARKED SIDE UP on the wrong side of the background fabric
- Baste along ALL marked lines using a stitch length of 4mm-6mm. The bobbin thread color should be easily seen on the background fabric (this is a really good time to use up almost-empty bobbins!)
From the RIGHT SIDE of the background fabric, you now have an intersection showing you where to place each letter and each leaf:
Stitch each letter, following the instructions in Steps to Successful Embroidered Appliqué included with the Let There Be LOVE Uppercase and Lowercase design collections.
Add the leaf designs so that each design is rotated by either 45 degrees to the right or 45 degrees to the left. The CENTER of the design should align with the intersection marked on your background fabric.
NOTE: The fabric placement line included in each leaf design does NOT mark the center of the design.
Your fabric and thread choices can be used to evoke a strong feeling of the season.

Dear Sarah, we have been away and I am just now catching up on my emails. I am so thrilled about the news you received about Heather!! Our prayers and positive thoughts, caring friends and family are God’s messengers so that He may Bless those we love.
The Word says to taste and see that the Lord is good, but sometimes we can only really understand that by being brought through the valley. Praise the Lord for His healing of Heather’s AVM. May He continue to increase her strength and her trust in Him. I pray God’s continued blessings on you and your whole family. Thank you for sharing such wonderful news.

Thank you, Sarah. What a blessing to finally know Heather is safe & healthy! I’m sending wishes for all of you to have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
This year we are thankful for a lifting of the sadness that overwhelmed our holidays last year due to the death of a dear elderly aunt. We didn’t make a Thanksgiving dinner or bother with a tree or even any Christmas decorations. Her departure meant that my husband at only 67 became the eldest in his family, with only he & his younger brother as the last survivors. This year will be better & we’re ready to celebrate the holidays again.
I’m so happy to hear you’re ready to celebrate again 🙂
That is very special news and together with you all I thank God for His Goodness. May He continue to hold you all in His arms.
Wonderful news! So happy for all of you!
